  The late Cherie Martin Franklin, Ph.D. was Co-Founder and Co-Director with Sherry G. Rubin, L.C.S.W., B.C.D., of Girls Star. They co-authored Girls Star (in their own lives!) Building Confidence, Courage, and Community in Adolescent Girls (see below).

  For anyone interested in getting involved, you can join other volunteers who are helping us with event and program coordination, publicity, fund-raising, and grant writing.

  Learn about adolescent girls in general and Girls Star in particular by supporting us through the purchase of our book, Girls Star: Building Confidence, Courage and Community in Adolescent Girls. The cost of the book is $20.00 plus $4.95 for shipping and handling. (Make checks payable to Girls Star and mail to the address below.)

  We have never charged girls to participate in our groups, and almost all of the facilitator’s time has been volunteered. As an organization, we need your financial support in order to continue serving girls and provide this opportunity in other communities.
